Throat Chakra or Fifth Chakra

The Throat Chakra is all about choice, willpower and the right to speak and be heard. Nov 14, 2019

The fifth chakra is called the THROAT Chakra (Vissudha)

The Throat Chakra symbol is all about choice, willpower and the right to speak and be heard. Speaking our peace is our God given right of choice. Having said this, not all we say gives us peace. Some of what we say can dis-empowers us. What we say is caused by unloving or loving imprints from our past again.

It is through this chakra that we manifest what we want in life. A healthy throat chakra makes your voice clear and it resonates with truth. The words are a creative expression of the honestly and trust we feel within.

Blocks in the Throat Chakra

Blocks in this chakra make it difficult to communicate because we feel suppressed by swallowed emotions and feelings. The voice is weak and your feelings unclear or garbled. Integrity plays a huge part in the proper functioning of the throat chakra. Since it’s between the head and the heart it works to maintain integrity between what we think and what we feel. Self-empowerment is the main lesson of this chakra symbol. The Throat Chakra is associated with your Self Expression and Communication.

The throat chakra is the voice of the body. It is a pressure valve that allows the energy from the other chakra to be expressed bringing out your inner truth.

The throat chakra allows us to communicate our thoughts and feelings. It is directly connected to the ability to express inner creativity. Both teaching and learning are affected by the balance of the throat chakra.

Balance in the Fifth Chakra

When it is in balance we can express what we think and what we feel. We can communicate our ideas, beliefs, and emotions. When the throat chakra is in balance and open, we can bring our personal truth out into the world.

When the throat chakra is in balance we have a easy flow of energy within the body and spirit. The energy that springs upward from the sacral chakra through the solar plexus can continue its path enabling free expression of the values and needs expressed within the energy.

Out of Balance in the Fifth Chakra

When the throat chakra is out of balance the physical symptoms may include sore throats, tight jaws, stiff neck, and headaches. When it is out of balance spiritually you might find yourself habitually lying, feeling fear and doubt about the intentions of others, or find yourself stammering or at a loss for words. You will likely have feelings of being isolated and misunderstood. You may well have symptoms of other chakras being out of balance. This is caused by the throat chakra blocking the energy flow from the other centres.

Some signs that the Throat Chakra is out of balance are:

  • Difficulty expressing oneself
  • Poor learning ability
  • Habitual lying
  • Fear, doubt, uncertainty

When it is in balance, you are able to listen and communicate well. When you are having trouble expressing yourself, or having trouble with communication (being unable to say what you want to say to others and/or not truly listening to what you are being told) the throat chakra becomes imbalanced.

Physical/ Medical issues of the Throat Chakra

Aches, tingles and pain located around the Throat, Mouth and Neck relate to the Throat chakra. This also includes toothache, sensitive gums, sore throats, loss of voice, coughs and ear infections.  It can manifest as feeling like a lump is in your throat (feeling choked up) and/or trouble when swallowing.

Fever, weariness, disorders in the throat, ears, voice, neck, cervical spine, hypothalamus and oesophagus problems.

If the issue is left unattended to, may lead on to more serious issues such as.

Emotional Issues

When in balance the throat chakra offers us faithfulness, an ability to express yourself and your ideas, good communication skills, will power and honesty. However imbalances are caused by being unfaithful (to either yourself or to others), a feeling of not being heard, or not being able to express your ideas/who you are. Feeling afraid to talk about things, lack of honesty (to yourself and/or others), Lack of willpower and lying.

It only takes one of these emotional conditions to form an imbalance, the intensity of which will be in direct relation. As you become more aware of yourself and the link between your emotional and physical aspects of you, your body responds more quickly to even the slightest emotional imbalance.
