Meditation: In this day and age is one of the most important life skills we can practice. Millions of people do it worldwide because of the benefits it brings but it can be so hard to know where to start so let’s start here.
Below is a list of Meditation sites and apps that you can access to have a listen to and see if they resonate with you. Personally, I have found that some voices are very appealing and others are not so good. Listen to a few of these and let me know what you think.

Meditation gives you the ability to raise your vibration and open you up to receive intuitive information to help you achieve all of your desires.

The selection of websites below is based mainly in Australia. They give you an understanding of how much is available on line about meditation. However if you prefer the in-person experience check your local directory for assistance.
The Meditation Society of Australia:
An online community that offers downloadable podcasts and phone apps including guided meditations, meditation music and children’s meditation. Many are free, including a Meditation for Beginners course. Website: www.meditation.org.au
Wildmind Buddhist Meditation:
Bodhipaksa is a Buddhist teacher and author who has been practising within the Triratna Buddhist Community since 1993. His online course is a four-week module with step-by-step readings, forum access and private email coaching sessions. Website: www.wildmind.org
Sahaja Yoga Meditation:
Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, founder of Sahaja Yoga Meditation, runs a weekly guided meditation every Sunday that’s streamed live between 9.30 and 10.30am (Sydney time) on 2SERfm. A selection of past radio podcasts can be downloaded www.meditationpodcasts.com. Website: www.sahajayoga.com.au
Meditation Oasis:
A diverse series of guided meditations, instructions on how to meditate and music for meditation. The website’s Simply Being: Guided Meditation for Relaxation and Presence is one of Miranda Kerr’s top 10 health apps. Open Heart:
Running classes around the world (including quite a few in Australia), this global spiritual organisation offers free downloadable meditation podcasts. There is also access to its online meditation rooms. However, you’ll need flash-based software to make the most of this portal. Website: www.openyourheart.info
Dru Meditation:
An online course designed for those who are serious about meditating. The nine-month schedule takes a week-by-week approach to learning. It’s well structured, easy to follow, comprehensive and is often used as a prerequisite for teacher training. If you loved it that much, start thinking about a career change. Website: www.dru.com.au
Meditation on the Go
It can be difficult at times to keep up with the fast-paced life of modern society. As a result, it may seem even more daunting a task to set aside time for meditation. We’re already glued to our smart phones and computer screens. Why not put them to work for us to help carve out that much needed you time.

Happify is designed to make you happier by funnelling the “science of happiness” through this technology. Its main features are activities and games based on scientific research that suggests there are five essential skills for happiness: savouring, thanking, aspiring, giving, and empathizing.

This app is designed to declutter your mind with various sounds. Its main features are: audio brainwave training, personalized brainwave training, and meditation sessions. The app tracks your progress and shows data on habits like productivity, focus, and hindsight. 4. Mindfulness App
This application was created to take a moment and reset during your busy day. Its main features are a daily delivery of mindfulness inspiration to your phone/tablet in the form of tips, exercises and teachings, because it reminds you to stop and slow down. You’ll like it if: If you create reminders for just about everything. 5. Joyable
The Joyable app takes a different approach to mindfulness, tackling the mental health side of things by offering mindful tactics to help issues like social anxiety and boost your self-confidence. This is a subscription-based platform with the sole purpose of helping you reduce your stress. This app will immerse you in scenes of natural beauty and bathe your mind with relaxing music and nature sounds. Especially if you have particular meditation goals, such as better sleep, deep concentration or wanting some inner peace. The app offers a wide variety of goal categories. calm.com
7. Mindful.org
Mindful is designed to be the go-to place for insight, information and inspiration to live mindfully. Its main features include a bi-monthly magazine called Mindful, MindfulDirect videos, and the website itself which provides approachable mainstream mindfulness practices. 8. Headspace
Headspace is designed to be your personal trainer and help you de-stress by exercising your mind. Its main features are animations about how the mind works and tips on how to sit quietly and breathe. Furthermore it allows you to set meditation reminders and track your activity. You’ll like it if: You’re looking for meditation made simple.
